KErn addresses relevant authorities and partners in nutrition: state institutions such as officials; education, health, and social institutions; doctors and midwives; nutrition advice; industry; and, not least, the media. KErn's central functions comprise appropriately documenting the latest knowledge about nutrition and food related themes and preparing it for different target groups.

On the basis of above, KErn develops:

  • concepts for pilot projects and events
  • technical bases for decisions concerning nutrition policies
  • guidelines for the technical work of state authorities in nutrition
KErn is simultaneously involved with the implementation and execution of events, fairs, and congresses.
